Studio Visits: Mark Clintberg
We’re excited to share the second installation of Studio Visits, a collaboration between Canadian Art Forecast and ART + PUBLIC UnLtd.
Our second video features Mark Clintberg. Clintberg is an artist who works in the field of art history. He was Longlisted for the Sobey Art Award for the region Prairies and the North in 2016, and Shortlisted for the Award in 2013. He is represented by Pierre François Ouellette art contemporain in Montreal, Canada, and is an Associate Professor in the School of Critical and Creative Studies at the Alberta University of the Arts.
"The full contours of those arbitrary definitions [public and private] are being sounded right now,” says Clintberg. The conversation spans Clintberg’s practice, tieing specific work to larger concepts of monumentality and what it means to be a person in public. Plus, there’s beautiful b-roll footage from Clintberg’s studio.
